Why do couples getting married go for pre wedding candid photography?
While strolling through the Cubbon park in Bangalore, I saw a photographer getting some candid couple shoot in the park and could not resist capturing them in my camera. While I paused to enjoy the shoot from a bit far so that I don’t intrude on the shot and make them feel awkward. It was quite interesting and nice to see.
The couple was trying to pose as well as the photographer trying to put the right natural poses. So, coming back to candid photography which is a natural picture without the subject knowing that a photograph is being taken. The candid character of a photo is unrelated to the subject’s knowledge about or consent to the fact that photos are being taken, and unrelated to the subject’s permission for subsequent usage such as distribution. The crucial factor is the actual absence of posing. If the subject is absolutely unaware of being photographed and does not even expect it, then such photography is secret photography, which is a special case of candid photography.
So why do we call them pre wedding candid photography which is not as per the real term, actually it takes a lot of time for most of the people to get comfortable in front of a camera. Two most of us are not aware on how to pose to get the best out of the picture.
